Social Media Graphics Job Description

The Social Media Graphics Virtual Assistant (VA) will design attractive web-based graphics for clients. Types of graphics include, but are not limited to, blog graphics, quotes, memes, thumbnails, holiday posts, banners and other graphics suitable for uploading to social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.)




The ideal candidate will:

  • Be detail-oriented
  • Be familiar with the type of graphics that are regularly posted to social media networks
  • Have a basic understanding of how to use Photoshop or other design software (I will train on the specific program needed)
  • Understand what DPI stands for and can calculate graphic dimensions for different DPI sizes
  • Stay up-to-date on current dimensions for social media graphics
  • Possess the ability to create attractive graphic designs
  • Be able to determine suitable color and font pairings
  • Be reliable and have good communication skills
  • Be able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Is a native English speaker


Extra points will be given to candidates who:

  • Are comfortable using Zoom or other online meeting tool
  • Know how to use Trello or another project management tool
  • Are familiar with Serif DrawPlus and/or PagePlus
  • Know how to use a social media scheduler (i.e. Social Report)
  • Know how to Import and Export images into graphics software programs
  • Know how to use desktop publishing software
  • Can demonstrate excellent writing skills (blog writing specifically)



  • This is a part-time independent contractor position.
  • Compensation: $20 per hour
  • Work hours: 20 per month
  • Deliverables are required weekly.

 There is a potential for more hours depending on quality of work performed.
